As the heart of every child is a natural drive to heal, grow, and connect. Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) is a research-informed approach that honors this inner wisdom by creating a safe and supportive space for children to express themselves through play.

Synergetic Play Therapy

Unlike traditional play therapy, SPT blends neuroscience, attachment theory, and child development to help children not only process their emotions, but also learn how to regulate their nervous systems, build resilience, and strengthen relationships with caregivers.

Through the power of therapeutic relationship and play, your child is supported in making sense of big feelings, reducing stress, and developing lifelong emotional skills.

  • In SPT, children use toys, art, movement, and symbolic play to express what they may not be able to say with words. The therapists tracks the child’s emotional states and responses, while also modeling regulation and emotional awareness. Sessions are 40-45 minutes and typically occur once per week.

  • SPT is typically designed for children between the ages of 2 and 10, as it utilizes play as the primary form of communication. However, SPT skills and interventions can also be adapted for use with older children, teens, and even addults, especially when addressing developmental trauma or emotional dysregulation.

  • YES! Caregiver involvement is considered essential in SPT. Regular parent consultation are scheduled to discuss progress, themes, and strategies to support your child at home. The goal is to help you feel more confident and connected as your child grows emotionally.
